Get the Job Done!

Go Seattle Go!

The Mariners are in it to win the entire thing and are just two wins away from reaching the World Series, something they have never done before. It is an amazing feat for such a strong team that practically has zero holes! They currently lead the ALCS 2-1 against the Blue Jays, with Game 4 tonight. This game can make or break the Mariners’ hot run and put them in serious trouble if they slip.

The Mariners are hoping to push past the Blue Jays tonight to gain a 3-1 series lead, while the Blue Jays are fighting to tie the series. On the mound, ‘Mad Max’ Scherzer of the Blue Jays takes the ball against George Kirby, one of the best at not giving up walks. Neither pitcher has had their best season in 2025—Scherzer posted a 5-5 record with a 5.19 ERA, 82 strikeouts, and a 1.29 WHIP, while Kirby went 10-8 with a 4.21 ERA, 137 strikeouts, and a 1.19 WHIP—but they’re still major league pitchers with the most important game on the line.

The Blue Jays are a strong team with a hitting core led by Vladimir Guerrero Jr., George Springer, Alejandro Kirk, and a scrappy bench that hasn’t stopped fighting. Guerrero Jr. was undeniable in the 2025 ALDS, going 9-for-17 (.529) with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs, clobbering so many go-ahead RBIs that sent the Yankees home early.

However, the Mariners are the clear stronger team, with so few holes in their lineup. Leading the way is team MVP and 60-home run hitter Cal Raleigh, who has hit .357 in the postseason with 10 hits, 2 home runs, and 5 RBIs in 28 at-bats. Julio Rodríguez has added 3 home runs and 8 RBIs while batting .242, Jorge Polanco has also contributed 3 home runs and 8 RBIs with a .258 average, and Randy Arozarena has stolen 4 bases. These are the guys pulling major loads for the Mariners as they aim for a place never seen before.

I have a feeling the Mariners are not finished with their epic season. They’ve been around since 1977 and have so much history—from the legendary Ken Griffey Jr. in the ’90s, to the 116-win season in 2001, to Ichiro Suzuki’s MVP and ROY in the same year, joining a rare list with Fred Lynn (1975). Now, add Cal Raleigh’s historic 60-home run season and a potential trip to the World Series. Fingers crossed—it’s almost time to celebrate for Seattle!

Looking ahead, the biggest upset would be beating the Dodgers if they advance—they currently lead the Brewers 2-0, and the Brewers have no pitchers lined up for tonight. If the Mariners win the World Series, it would be one of the best seasons in league history, already made historic by Cal Raleigh. I pray they have the power and strength to get past the evil, dark LA Dodgers. Last year’s champions are a tough mountain to climb, but if any team can challenge them, it’s the damn Mariners.

It’s time to lock in, get the next two wins, and make the last dance a reality. Only six wins left for MLB history—let’s get to work!

About

Prime Time Baseball is an independent sports platform created by James Leather, a 22-year-old senior at Binghamton University with a lifelong passion for baseball. What started as a personal outlet has grown into a space focused on storytelling, accessibility, and modern baseball analysis.

This platform isn’t just about box scores or surface-level stats. It’s about context. Prime Time Baseball breaks down pitching mechanics, advanced metrics, roster construction, and front-office decisions in a way that both casual fans and hardcore followers can understand quickly. The goal is to make dense baseball topics feel approachable, not overwhelming.

As an avid Mets fan, that perspective naturally shows up here, but the focus goes beyond one team. Prime Time Baseball aims to create storylines across the league — highlighting player development, trends, and moments that shape the game beyond numbers alone.

There is also a strong interest in marketing and SEO behind the scenes. This page is built to grow, evolve, and eventually expand into coverage of other sports. It’s a work in progress, and that’s intentional. The platform grows as the writing grows.

Prime Time Baseball is for fans who want to learn, engage, and enjoy the game on a deeper level — without needing a statistics degree to do it.
