The last international outing was in 2000 when they faced the Cubs in Japan. Since then, it’s been all about baseball in Queens. But now, the Queens natives get to play in the land of the Queen. Hail the Queen! “The Mets are on a mission to paint London orange and blue!” It promises to be an exceptionally fun time watching my team take on the fighting Phillies across the pond. Despite the Mets’ current struggles, sitting at a 26-35 record, and the Phillies appearing as serious World Series contenders with a 43-19 record, I’m eagerly anticipating this series. From the land of the 7 line to the sea of the British, the Mets “are bringing their A-game from Queens to Buckingham Palace!” Regardless of the outcome, whether it’s a win for the Mets (fingers crossed) or not, it’ll be another victory for America across the pond.
